DATE A GIRL WHO READS

January 2, 2013

I recently just read a post "Date A Girl Who Reads", from a newly found blog, Beautifully Amateur, that I have really fallen for. I would go and take a moment out of your hectic life, and go read it for yourself. The words were so eloquent and so simply sewn together it reminded me how much a good book, and good thoughts are really worth. I think just to add on to her post, I cannot emphasize enough how writing is such a simplistic yet healing process to really help open your eyes to things that you yourself need to hear from that little voice of reasoning and conscience inside. When people read, and write they are able to connect with something so pure within themselves, their true desires and honest feelings. When you read, you capture that essence that there are people just like you, quirky and extraordinary, searching for something, feeling love, and heartbreak, dreaming and second guessing their ideas, having the craziest thoughts and romances in their lives. Reading expands your vocabulary, your imagination, and the very limits of your soul. I think it's just as important that you date a man who reads, someone who understands that words are love, just as actions are irreplaceable. A man who can sit and listen, as well as creatively challenge your conversations with wit and humor. Why? Because readers have no fear of depth and are afraid of shallow living.
