Honestly, I have to really have a passion for what I am doing to be motivated, and that's how I can tell that I'm either in love with how my life is going, or I need a revamp. Here's eight key things that I personally get motivation from:
1. I make it a top priority to eat breakfast, I've said it once HERE and I'll say it again, breakfast is really essential for my constant on the go life.
2. I make sure that my work space, whether for personal or free lance work is always neat. I also have an inspiration wall, that way I'm constantly looking at inspiring pieces, and creative wheel turners that really speak to me personally.
3. I pick people who I admire as an artist, I listen, I read, I watch anything that I can get my hands on. I see their successes and it makes me driven with that desire to make something out of myself, so I do my research to see how they got where they are today.
4. I used to go to bed around 4am, and then sleep in till 10, but since ONE OF MY GOALS this year was go to bed before 11:30, since then I've modified it to 12 because of my job, I'm up at 7:30 and ready to go.
5. I get dressed for the day as soon as I get up. Personal appearance for me makes all the difference. Since I'm dressed with a purpose I'll usually work harder.
6. I keep myself positive. Remember that inspiration wall I was talking about? Well I have a mirror that says, "Live well", above my bed I have a little banner that says, "HAPPY" I make sure I keep positive words surrounding me.
7. I create a game plan for the day, and usually the week as well. If I don't I just end up sitting in my bed searching Pinterest and then I find that I've procrastinated on about 1000 things.
8. I keep track of what I've accomplished for the day. I write everything down, that way when I'm having one of those days where I feel like I haven't done anything I can see that I actually did a lot of the simple things that just have to get down like, "laundry, clean room, send out x,y, and z emails, call mom, run to the bank, etc."
Just remember you are completely in charge of your destiny and the outcome of your life. That alone should be the greatest motivation.
