MOTIVATION MONDAY / STEP ONE
You are what you eat, which is why it's so important to remember to intake healthy foods, and the right amount of food. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, when I get up I can't eat first thing, if I do, I get an upset stomach. I usually start the day off with a cup of Lemon tea, and when I feel settled, I do one cup of greek yogurt topped with my moms homemade granola, or the honey almond granola which I purchase at SPROUTS. Lunches recently have consisted of salads, or burritos, that way I have a source of healthy protein, and I'm cutting out major carbs by focusing on eating fruits and veggies. If I'm on the run, most fruits and vegetables can be a grab-n-go snack, cucumbers, apples, bananas, celery, etc. When it comes to dinner, I make sure that I make the time to make a meal. When I plan, put thought and effort into what I'm eating, it makes it easier to not just run to closest fast food joint and spend five dollars towards feeling crummy. The days that I do eat out, are rare, and in most cases I'll end up feeling sick in the end. Eating the right foods can make or break my day. Make sure you know what you're eating, read the ingredients, if you don't know what something is, get familiar with it because chances are if you can't pronounce it, it's probably not good for you. I know for myself, I try to stay away from caffeine and high sugary foods. They tend to affect my emotional levels, not only that but sugars, and caffeines are just a temporary fix. They might give me that little boost that I need, but then I know I'll probably end up with the after math of crashing. Moral of the story, get motivated. Do yourself, and your body a favor, eat right and feel great.
