MERRY CHRISTMAS

December 25, 2012

Sometimes I think we really take for granted the things we already have during the Christmas season. During the hustle and bustle of gift wrapping, giving, receiving, holiday parties, and endless lines in the  stores I think we lose the true meaning of family, and the birth of our Savior. With the shooting in Newtown, it has really turned my heart to an attitude of gratitude, and counting my blessings. As we opened our gifts this morning, I couldn't help but think how I really had everything I ever needed right there in the room with me, my family. I love the spirit that Christmas brings into our home each year, and how it seems to center us back before the start of the new year. It is a beautiful, humble and simple reminder that the most meaningful things are right in front of us. "To catch the real meaning of the 'Spirit of Christmas', we need only drop the last syllable, and it becomes the 'Spirit of Christ'."- Thomas S. Monson.
