IT'S NOT "GOODBYE" / IT'S "SEE YOU LATER"

February 20, 2013

We've had quite the week with Kaylee, full of laughs, smiles, and the most ridiculous memories. Today was the last day we would all be together until we return from our missions, which is about a year and half away. Kaylee will be the first out of the five of us to go on her mission, serving in Santa Maria, Brazil. We decided we'd all go up to Salt Lake City and drop her off as our one last hoorah, taking the UTA for the first time. It got a little chilly as we headed out, and then soon we had the little snow flakes in our midst. The ride was really, relaxing I think is the best word. We scrolled through Instagram, talked, and just enjoyed our time with one another. We met up with Kyson (Kaylee's brother) and treated ourselves to Cheesecake Factory in City Creek. Okay, so we know it wasn't technically Kaylee's birthday, but we still wanted to celebrate it since we wouldn't be able too for another two years. Cut us a break. After our food coma, we headed back to the station, and said our parting words. It wasn't as sad as I thought it would be, but I think thats because we're all just really excited to go out and serve. I felt nothing but content and happiness for Kaylee as I hugged her for the last time in awhile. I'm the baby of the group, and I really look up to every single one of these people I call my best friends, especially Kaylee.
I think friendship is one of the most remarkable things. We stick up for people, who at one point we knew nothing about, we love them as they were our own siblings, and in most ways they are. We might not always agree, and sometimes we can get a little, as Clarissa says, "sassy", we have our differences, talents, faults, and flaws, but mix all those things together and you have this beautiful and powerful bond. I have never felt so close to any one group of people before besides my family. All I can say is, these girls have changed my life for the better, and I can't imagine life without their love and friendship.
